Kadapa District Officially YSR Kadapa District is one among the 4 district located in the Rayalaseema Region of Andhra Pradesh. Kadapa District is spread over an area of 15,379 Sq.Kms. and its head Quarters is Kadapa Corporation. The district has further been divided into 50 mandalas. The main rivers in this district are Penna, Chitravathi,,Kunderu, Papagni, Sagileru, Bahuda and Cheyyeru. It has a forest area of 5,050 Sq.Kms which comes to be arount 1/3rd of the total area of the district. The Majority of the people here depend on Agriculture for livelihood. The Major crops in the district are Paddy, Groudnut, Sunflower, Cotton, Betel leaves and Horticultural crops like Mango, Papaya, Banana, lemon and Oranges. The district is rich in Minerals value. The Major Minerals in the district are Barytes, Lime stone and Asbestos. Napa slabs, Road metal, Building stone, Marble, mosaic chips etc are minor minerals. It is one of the Industrial areas consisting of Large, Medium and small scale industries.
