1. Location :

Tadepalli town is located in Capital Region Area. Amaravathi Tadepalli town is Located in Central Point abutting to Road from Mangalagiri to attached at Undavalli Passing to Vijayawada and Guntur on Old National Highway No.05. The distance of Head quarters Guntur is about 30Kms. The nearest Railway Station Krishna Canal, Mangalagiri and Vijayawada City.

 
2. Importance of the Tadepalli Town :
Tadepalli Municipality is Constituted as 2nd Grade Municipality W.E.F 05-01-2018 as per the Orders of the Government issued in the GO.Ms.No: 13, MA&UD (Ele II) Department, dated 05-01-2018. The area of the town is 19.5 Sqkms. The population of the town is 54,362as per 2011 Census. The present population approximately 80,000. The total increase 47%.The main occupation is cultivation. There is one center of Sub Government Hospital. There isfamous temple Anjaneya Swamy and Venkateswara Swamy. There is Super SpecialtyHospital of Manipal and two small hospitals. The town is located in between MangalagiriMunicipality and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation
 

3. Industries: There is one Industry name P.W.D workshop belongs to Government.

4.Climate

The climate in Tadepalli Town is comparatively equitable. It can be observed that the highest temperatures are accorded to April to July. A minimum temperature does not fall 28.8c during these months.
 
5 Rainfall:
It is observed that the highest rainfall accures during the months of June to October. It is also be observed that the first four months in the year are rainless. During the month of June fair amount of rain may occur. More than half of the annual rainfall is brought by the southwest monsoon and there maining share occurs in October and November. The southwestmonsoon begins in the middle of June. Usually the period between July to October is
regarded as the heaviest monsoon period.
 
6 Population:
The population size is the most crucial and fundamental factor in the context of any development either physical, Economical or Social. Population growth affects the urban growth very significantly as it constitutes the basic variables in a model of planned
development. The population size of the urban area gives as indication of overall dimensions of the Physical environment and supplies the basic yardstick for estimation of any amenity. facility such as water supply, Housing, Street Lighting, Drainage, Education and Medical
facilities, transport road network etc.,
                 The population of Tadepalli Municipality was 41698 during 2001, which has increase to54,362 by 2011. The increase during this period is 28,538 at the rate of 47% growth.
 
7 Tree Plantation:
It is proposed to plant 5,300 plants in the town and distribution of 10,000 plants. Necessary steps were taken to take 100% plantation to maintain greenery in the town.
 
7 Water Supply:
At present, protected Water Supply Scheme is catering to the drinking water needs, by
utilizing ground Krishna river water through Nagarjuna Sagar canal. The total installed
capacity of water supply scheme is 3.31 MLD. There is 18.26km water supply network
length. The total number of household water supply connections is 3851 and the number of
public stand posts is 513. About 20% of developed area is not covered by the water supply

    8 Drainage:
    The total length of existing drainage network is about 78.04 Km. About 9.16% of total drainage network is covered by pucca drains 7.15Km. The share of kutcha drains is 88.91%(69.39 Km). The remaining 1.93% drainage network is covered by strom water drains. About10% of the developed area remains unserved. Underground drainage system is completely absent in the town.
    9 Solid Waste Management:
    Tadepalli is one of the best towns in Andhra Pradesh in terms of sanitation. It has wider roads which are being kept clean. About 30 MT of solid waste is generated per day. The garbage lifted per day is about 29 MT, which constitutes to 98.5% of garbage generated.
    10 Transport and Communications:
    There are two major roads connecting Tadepalli town with all other places in regional level. They are 1) National Highway-05 Road 2) Vijayawada to Mangaalgairi Road 3) Within the town, there are well developed internal roads. The total road networks length is about95.63 Km. The share of CC Roads is about 16.39% BT roads is about 17.44 Kms, 17.10Km is covered by WBM roads about 10% of the town area is unserved. As per the master plan,some of roads are proposed to be widened.
    11 History & Culture:
    In Tadepalli town famous Anjaneya Swami Temple is situated in the Northern side of Tadepalli beside Krishna river it was built by Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu in 17th Century at present it was adopted by Kanakadurga Temple(Vijayawada). Famous Undavalli caves are situated at a distance from 2Km from Tadepalli town. They were built in second or third centuries, in four stairs. In the first stair there are 16 Mandapams and there is 25 feet Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Statue. There is a belief that there is a secret tunnel (sorangam) from these caves to Mangalagiri Panakalaswamy temple.
    It is also proposed to develop the caves by arranging roap-way and parks.
     
    12 Educational Institutions:
    At present there are 25 primary schools, 1 upper primary school, 1 zilla parishad high school and several private and aided schools. There is also government junior college, government ITI college and polytechnic college. Apart from these, there are several private junior and degree colleges and P.G Centers.
    13 Health & Medical Facilities:
    There is one government community area hospital which covers the health needs of entire town. There is a need for provision of additional support to the hospital to increase the capacity to serve the urban poor. In addition to the area hospital there is Manipal Super specialty Hospital and 01 private clinic in the town.
    14 Brief note on City Development Plan (CDP):
    Detailed study on present status of existing civic amenities is carried out to assess the short falls under different heads to meet the growing needs of the town. Core amenities such as water supply, drainage system and BT Roads are given utmost importance in this City Development Plan (CDP). Potable water supply and drainage are primary factors which affect public health. Existing road network is insufficient as the vehicular traffic is increasing by many folds. In the view of Krishna Pushkarams. There is a need for widening of existing roads and formation of new roads.
    15 Urban Reforms:
    I. Mandatory reforms :
    1) Adoption of double entry system at accounting in Urban Local Bodies.
    2) Reforms of property tax with GIS so that it becomes major Resource of
    revenue.
    3) Internal earmarking within local body budget for basic services to the
    Urban poor.
    4) Provision for basic service to urban poor like improved housing, Water
    Supply, sanitation and other universal services for education, Health and Social Security.
     
    II. Optional reforms :
    1) Computerization of all records relating to lands and property.
    2) Reduction of un-accounted for water. Metering of all Tap
    Connections.
    3) Reduction in establishment expenditure bringing down the
    Establishment expenditure less than 20% of total revenue.
    4) Providing toilets wherever necessary to achieve a goal of Defecation
    free town.
    5) Encouraging Public Private Partnership.
    6) Improved service delivery.
