Rayachoty Municipality is the 3rd largest ULB in the Y.S.R.(Kadapa) District of A.P. it is spread over an area of 26.97 Sq kms with a population of 90814(2011 census). It is known for / famous for its piligram tourism surrounding with big districts Kadapa, Chittoor and Anantapuramu.
Location:
It is located 500 Kms from capital city and 55 Kms from District Headquarters. It was established as 3rd grade Municipality in the year 2005.
Topography:
The Rayachoty town situated in between Y.S.R. Kadapa District, Chittoor and Anantapuramu Districts. The town is established 50 Kms from Kadapa headquarters of YSR District along road NH-18 surrounding with river mandavya.
Climate and Rainfall:
Rayachoty town in general, has a tropical climate, winters last from November to February, while summers last from March to June. The annual rainfall is 25 mm, most of it received during the months of September, October and November.

The population of the town which was 72163 in 2001 increased to 90814 in 2011 with an increase of 25% in the last decade. The sex ratio is 1:1 females per 1000 males. The literacy rate is 60% 50% of the male population and 10% of the female population are literate
