Dhone town, in general, has a tropical climate, winters last from November to February. While summers last from March to June. The annual rainfall is 120 mm, most of it received during the months of July to September.

The population of the town which was 46611 in 2001 increased to 59272 in 2011 with an increase of 12.61% in the last decade. The sex ratio is 972 females per 1000 males. The literacy rate is 60.15% of the male population and 48.50% of the female population are literate.

Of 35268 workers engaged in Main Work, 1658 were cultivators (owner or co-owner) while 14526 were Agricultural labourer.
